I have to agree with some of the points people have made about it being a typical 'current smell' but it's still a nice scent and its better than a lot of the other synthetic sickly aquatics on the market I.

I'm not getting at him for this, merely illustrating how tastes can vary in the most extreme of ways. Where Pour Homme is a diffuse transparant citrus, Majeure is a diffuse transparant salty marine scent with a silky-woody base. In particular, I did not feel so much similarity on my skin, but I imagine it could happen to other people. I really like this perfume associated with the Fashion Architect (that's how Issey Miyake is known in the fashion world). Quite an underrated fragrance in my opinion, perhaps other people had a similar initial impression as I did, I found it almost repulsive on first sniff, not that it was horrible, just different from what I had expected!Update: What a gem this fragrance is, something about the dry-down is reminiscent of Baccarat Rouge 540.

Issey Miyake L’eau Super Majeure D’Issey Eau de Toilette Spray Intense is a bold, masculine fragrance from the sophisticated fashion house. Grapefruit, Bergamot, and Mint are the top notes; Sea Notes, Hedione, and Tea are the middle notes; while Cashmeran, Woody Notes, Amberwood, Cedar, and Coumarin are the base notes. I've been whining recently about generic, uncreative scents saturating the marketplace and you'd think I'd embrace something which evokes such a colourful response in either direction, for beeter or worse. I expect the first smell is going to be like 'first impressions last' but if you've sprayed on your skin do give it time and I mean like probably a good 2 hours or so to mellow down and see what you think. Top notes are Citruses, Clary Sage and Rosemary; middle notes are Sea Notes, Sea Salt, Woody Notes, Cashmeran and Patchouli; base notes are Smoke, Amberwood, Tonka Bean, Leather and Madagascar Vanilla.

This is the ingredient that made few reviewers on this page bluntly use the words (urine), (urinal), (urinous) and (urinated), as well as phrases like (harsh cleaning product), (chemical mess), and (chemical crap) for describing the smell. There's also slightly bitter tinge to the opening (I'm guessing due to some citrus or citrus aldehyde). My only qualm with this is that its projection isn't great on my skin; it becomes a skin scent within an hour upon application.
