Foster carers rarely get the praise they deserve, but Cathy Glass's book should change all that.****' Loved it! I read this in couple of sittings, really hard to put down, fantastic read, well done Cathy and congratulations…" Cathy has been a foster parent for many years, and a very patient understanding one. Her usual foster children have some very upsetting things to deal with and this was the case of this 14 year old teenager Tilly. She loves her mum and worries about her. Amazing book as always from Cathy, can't wait for the next! Have read every single one of her books!" Frightened for her own safety, Tilly asks to go into foster care and is placed with Cathy. Tilly arrives with a graze on her cheek and Cathy becomes increasingly concerned by Dave’s behaviour, especially when she learns he has been showering Tilly with gifts. While she’s busy looking after Tilly and trying to keep her safe, Cathy is also worried about her own daughter, Lucy. She has a very difficult decision to make that will affect the rest of her life, and Cathy hopes she makes the right choice.

It's a family drama, and some people would probably describe it as "gritty". It's not the kind of thing I would ever choose to read for pleasure, but many people do, and for them this would probably be a treat. As usual this is a very engaging read which gives insight into the range of responsibilities that are part of being a foster parent. Not only is Cathy caring for the child she also takes on a key role in the broader dynamics of the family. Having read all of Cathy Glass' books, I had high expectations of this book, and they were fulfilled! I recommend this book to anybody." Lucy was born to a single mother who had been abused and neglected for most of her own childhood. Right from the beginning Lucy's mother couldn't cope, but it wasn't until Lucy reached eight years old that she was finally taken into permanent foster care.

Fantastic book. Sad, but a story that must be told. I was gripped right from the beginning. I would definitely recommend this book. Nice keeping up to date with Cathy and her lovely family." Lucy was born to a single mother who had been abused and neglected for most of her own childhood. Right from the beginning Lucy’s mother couldn’t cope, but it wasn’t until Lucy reached eight years old that she was finally taken into permanent foster care. Tilly, aged 14, is very angry with her parents. Her step-father, Dave, abuses her mother, but she won’t leave him. Unable to cope with their fighting any longer and fearing for her own safety Tilly puts herself into foster care. She arrives at experienced foster carer, Cathy’s home with a cut on her face from getting in the way of another fight. As well as looking after Tilly and keeping her safe Cathy is worried about her own daughter, Lucy, who has confided she is pregnant. She’s asked that no one else knows until she has decided what to do. Cathy hopes and prays she makes the right decision as it will affect the rest of her life. Couldn’t put the book down! I love Cathy Glass’ work and this was no different. A really personal memoir and all the more touching as Lucy features in other books too. Lucy’s story could have a happy ending but it could so easily have been different. Policy and priorities need to change so that every child has a permanent family of their own as soon as possible. I am very proud of all of my children not only for what they have achieved but also for the people they have become. Couldn't put the book down! I love Cathy Glass' work and this was no different. A really personal memoir and all the more touching as Lucy features in other books too."

Andrew Lownie Literary Agency :: Book :: Will You Love Me

Having read all of Cathy Glass’ books, I had high expectations of this book, and they were fulfilled! I recommend this book to anybody. The eleventh memoir and latest title from the internationally bestselling author and foster carer Cathy Glass. This book tells the true story of Cathy’s adopted daughter Lucy. An easy 5 star for me along with the vast majority of Cathy’s other books. I love her writing style, usually I don’t like descriptive writing but I feel with this being non-fiction it kind of works better? Glass has worked as a foster career for more than 20 years, during which time she has fostered more than 50 children. Her fostering memoirs tell the stories of some of the children who came in to her care, many of whom had suffered abuse.

Lucy and I have always believed we were destined to be mother and daughter. It just took us a while to find each other. I hope you enjoy Lucy’s story. I enjoyed writing it. I have always enjoyed reading Cathy Glass’s books! This is still a great publication helping to understand children, their issues and how to deal with them. Can’t wait for the next book! Lucy was born to a single parent who had herself been abused and neglected for most of her childhood. Lucy’s mother couldn’t cope with a baby and Lucy was neglected right from the beginning. Despite concerns being raised by her teachers and other adults Lucy wasn’t taken into permanent foster care until she was eight years old. But even then her problems weren’t over. As she was moved from one foster home to another she became increasingly distressed. WILL YOU LOVE ME? LUCY’S STORY | Cathy Glass

I struggle reviewing books like this because they are stories about people's lives. They're real, and they're unpleasant, and I feel a little bad about reading about people's unhappiness. However, I do really enjoy these books, and I feel that Cathy Glass does a very good job in making people aware of what awful things go on behind closed doors. I have dabbled in fostering, and it's hard and heartbreaking to witness what people do to children. I've just had to give up on a book of which I had high expectations so needed a replacement to settle me and Cathy Glass books are consistently good quality. Will You Love Me tells the true story of Cathy’s adopted daughter Lucy. So I am a massive Cathy Glass fan and have been for around ten years now; she's probably the Author that I own the most books by.Cathy's books always give a great insight into fostering and everything involved that most people aren't aware of. However sometimes she does state things unnecessarily, because everyone already knows, such as the fact that pregnant women urgently need the toilet... There was also a lot of bitter comments about her ex John in this one, but that's not really a bad thing #drama A well written story, Cathy writes in such a way it draws you in from the start. A moving story of a young girl (Tilly) with a bit of a twist…" This is the story of my adopted daughter, Lucy, who came to me as a foster child and stayed for good.
